Three mistakes that cost electricians money
Not naming who calls the utility
Panel work usually needs a utility disconnect and reconnect, and that schedule is not yours. Say on the document who coordinates it and that the timeline depends on the utility.
Quoting circuits without naming the run length
A dedicated circuit is priced by distance and by what the wire has to pass through. A quote that says 'add circuit' with no footage is the same as agreeing to whatever the customer imagined.
Treating code-required upgrades as included
Once you open a panel, grounding, bonding, or AFCI/GFCI requirements can appear. Name them as a possible change order on the quote so the correction is expected rather than resented.
